Ulf Gyllensten new director of Clinical Genomics Uppsala
Since April 2022, Ulf Gyllensten is the director of Clinical Genomics Uppsala (CGU). His strong translational research profile and extensive experience from different roles at SciLifeLab will be highly valuable for CGU.
– It is a privilege to act as director for Clinical Genomics Uppsala. Access to front-line technologies in genomics is a key prerequisite for the development of precision medicine, and CGU has been very successful in providing the tools to address an increasing number of clinical needs and support translational research, says Ulf Gyllensten.
Ulf Gyllensten is a Professor in Medical Molecular Genetics, and his own research is both in genomics and in translational medicine with a focus on gynecological cancer. He has previously served as Director of the Uppsala Genome Center, Director of the SciLifeLab Genomics Platform and Scientific Director SciLifeLab Uppsala. He was also one of the founders of Uppsala Biobank.
– We are very happy to have Ulf onboard as new director. He has broad experience and I am sure that he will make a great contribution to CGU’s future directions, says Malin Melin, head of Clinical Genomics Uppsala.
