Demonstration During A Week on Academic Freedom
The conference A Week on Academic Freedom took place on October 20–23 with the aim of highlighting the current state of academic freedom and the threats it faces in today’s society.
When the program began and the rectors’ panel took their seats, the seminar was interrupted by demonstrators demanding that Swedish universities condemn Israel and terminate all collaborations with Israeli universities and researchers.
The Vice-Chancellor of Uppsala University, Anders Hagfeldt, participated in the rectors’ panel and, together with Program Director Linda Wedlin, has shared their reflections on the incident. These reflections are published on the Vice-Chancellor’s blog.
