The Quantsol winter school on "Analytics for Photovoltaics and (Photo)electrochemistry" was held in a beautiful location in Hirschegg, Kleinwalsertal, Austria and was organized by Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB) and The European Society for Quantum Solar Energy Conversion. The breathtaking scenery of the Alps was a perfect backdrop for the insightful and specialized lectures on characterization techniques for solar cells.
As someone who is currently pursuing a PhD on perovskite solar cells, I found the school to be incredibly useful and beneficial. The lectures were informative and covered a range of topics from the basics to the latest advancements in the field of photovoltaics and (Photo)electrochemistry. The renowned speakers were approachable, which made it easy to ask questions and clarify any doubts.
What made the school truly unique was the interactive and collaborative nature of the learning experience. There were ample opportunities for scientific discussions and exchange of ideas. The participants were encouraged to volunteer and participate in group discussions. Another great aspect of the school was the opportunity to network and connect with fellow researchers and experts in the field. Opportunity to meet participants working in the same field made it easy to find common ground and have meaningful conversations.
In conclusion, the Quantsol winter school was an outstanding experience for anyone interested in the field of photovoltaics and (photo)electrochemistry. The specialized curriculum, interactive and collaborative learning environment, and opportunities for networking made it an invaluable experience for me.
