Disciplines vary in their definitions of scientific methods, appropriate research designs, and reliable evidence sources. There are numerous contributions in the research on interdisciplinarity that highlight the need to articulate and appreciate disciplinary differences. Myra Strober, for instance, talked about the need to articulate and appreciate different “disciplinary habits of mind”.
The toolbox dialogue approach is one suggested way to facilitate early cross-disciplinary conversations where different research and thought styles can be articulated and discussed (Pohl 2020). In this workshop we explore our habits of mind via the collaboration tool.
