The Student union's reasoning for awarding Tom the prize:
"Tom Mels is a multiple nominee for this prize indicating a consistently high level of pedagogical ability. He wins the Teacher of the year award because of his inspired and engaging style of teaching and ability to relay complex information in a comprehensible manner. He has a unique ability to create curiosity among his students regardless of subject and often gives a unique perspective that his students might not have seen themselves, thereby inspiring critical thinking among his students. Tom Mels is a greatly appreciated teacher among the students and is highly deserving of the award teacher of the year for the academic year of 2024/2025”.
Congratulations, Tom! 🙂
