Student of the year 2025/2206

New this year was the introduction of a ‘Student of the Year’ award, for which students on campus were also able to nominate candidates. The award was presented to Sara Herlitz, teaching assistant at the Department of Informatics and Media.

The Student union's reasoning for awarding Sara the prize:

Sara Herlitz has distinguished herself as a role model for both her fellow students and the wider university community through outstanding academic achievements, exceptional dedication and an impressive work ethic.

In her role as a teaching assistant within the department, she has contributed to other students’ academic development and the study environment with great professionalism and generosity. She has also demonstrated a particular commitment to student engagement and outreach, including participation in education fairs, as well as welcoming and introducing new students at both Campus Gotland and Uppsala University as a whole.

Alongside her academic commitments, Sara has also been actively involved in the Student Union and in board work within SVIT, where she has contributed in numerous ways to student life and the sense of community.

Sara Herlitz demonstrates a strong drive for quality and development. Through integrity, a strong sense of responsibility and courage, she has, both in her role as programme representative and through her active participation in courses, helped to raise important issues and highlight areas for improvement.

Many congratulations to Andreas and Sara from all of us at Uppsala University - Campus Gotland!
