Student activities

Take the opportunity to be an active student during your time at the university! The department has several student societies, and as a student representative, you can directly contribute to the department’s ongoing quality assurance and overall development.

The student societies is active in both Visby and Uppsala:

As a student at the department, you have the opportunity to get involved as a student representative in several different ways:

The Undergraduate Education Council meets once per semester (on campus in Uppsala and Visby, respectively) and consists of one representative from each of the department’s disciplines and educational levels, as well as the Director of Studies and programme coordinators. In the council, we discuss the latest courses together. Through the council, you have the opportunity to voice opinions and suggest improvements regarding the content and implementation of courses. Interested students in Uppsala apply through the Uppsala Student Union, and in Visby through the HuGo and GotArk sections.

The Department Board is the department’s highest decision-making body and makes decisions on matters such as the budget, education, and operational planning. Five meetings per semester. One regular student representative and one alternate.

The Working Environment and Equal Opportunities Group. As a student representative, you help combat discrimination and promote equal rights. Two meetings per semester. One regular student representative.
