Your study route
Before each new semester, you must apply for courses through universityadmissions.se. You can be admitted to a maximum of 45 credits each semester.
If you are a fee-paying student you can only register for the number of courses you have paid for. Please note that it is not possible to change courses at will - you must apply for all courses in advance.
Study route
We strongly recommend the standard track (the courses below) for most students. Without the first-year courses, it is very difficult to follow some of the courses offered later in the programme.

Internship or exchange
All credits in the Master's programme must be academic credits (120 credits). The Department does not have an internship course and we have no exchange agreement at departmental level. It is possible to apply for exchange through Uppsala University's central agreements.
Courses in other subjects
If you want to take courses in other subjects, such as mathematics, programming or statistics, you can apply for courses on universityadmissions.se. If you take courses that do not follow the standard track, make sure that the degree requirements for a Master's degree in economics are met.
The following courses in statistics can be applied for within the programme:
2ST130 Time Series Econometrics
2ST132 Financial Econometrics
What happens if...
... I fail an exam?
You will be offered opportunities for re-examination. The same criteria for grade levels are applied to all examination occasions on the same course. It will not show in any certificates how many times you have retaken an exam.
... I do not finish my studies within two years?
If you do not need a visa to study in Sweden, you simply reregister and complete the course(s) next semester(s).
If you need a visa, the Swedish migration board will require a certificate from the department stating that you are still studying, and preferably an estimate of when you will graduate. If you have been inactive (i.e. not taken any credits) for 1–2 semesters, we will not be able to certify that you are still an active student.
