Minor Field Study Grant

Please note this year's round of stipends for MFS has unfortunately been cancelled. We regret to inform you about this. When a new round of applications is announced we will post information below.

Minor Field Studies (MFS) is a grant programme intended for Bachelor’s and Master’s students who want to learn about developing countries and development issues.

The studies include collecting data for your thesis over a period of a minimum 8 weeks in a low- or middle-income country which meets the stipend criteria. For more information, see the page for international opportunities. All the instructions and criteria can be found there for how to apply.

Feedback on your draft application

Prior to each application round the Department of Government organises a workshop where you can get feedback on your draft versions. Dates are announced when the application is open. To participate, you simply send an e-mail of your draft application to Johanna.soderstrom@statsvet.uu.se.
