Internship
Internship courses are included as an optional part of the Master's program in Musicology. Students studying the Master's program have the opportunity to do internships in courses of 7.5 credits or 15 credits.
The internship course is an excellent opportunity to try out and start your future working life in the music sector. Previous students have completed internships at, for example, UKK, SVT, Berdwaldhallen and Konserthuset Stockholm.
As a student, you are responsible for contacting potential internships. Think carefully about what kind of organization you want to work for in the future and what tasks you would most like to practice. It is important that music is the focus of your internship.
The internship that receives an intern must appoint a supervisor with responsibility for introducing, instructing and supporting the intern during the internship. The intern and the internship then sign an internship agreement that must be approved by the Director of Studies for the Department of Musicology. Once an agreement has been approved, the student is registered on the internship course.
After completing the internship, the student must submit a written report of their internship to the Director of Studies. Contact the Director of Studies or the study advisor (see addresses below) if you are interested in doing an internship, or would like a list of suggestions for previous internships. It is permitted to apply for both Swedish and foreign internships. We can also provide support on how best to contact a prospective internship.
