Uppsala University's big band
Uppsala University Jazz Orchestra (UUJO) is the university’s very own big band, founded in 2004 by the jazz musician, pianist, and trombonist Ulf Johansson Werre. In the spring of 2024, the orchestra welcomed its new artistic director, Erik Tengholm, as Ulf Johansson Werre retired from his position at the university.

Welcome to a new semester!
After a wonderful summer, the new semester begins, and so do the orchestra’s rehearsals and concerts. Our autumn concert calendar is now available to view and download on our website. Welcome to our first concerts of the season during Kulturnatten (Culture Night) on 12 September!
