Next year we will celebrate 550 years in the service of knowledge. The jubilee is more than a ceremonial occasion – it is an opportunity to deepen the conversation on the power of knowledge in society: what we have learnt from history, what we are doing today, and what ideas we carry with us into the future. Join in and celebrate!

The past, the present, the future – a jubilee in motion
Since 1477, the University has been a place where ideas are born, tested and change the world.
For more than five centuries, Uppsala University has played a part in shaping knowledge, society and the future. The jubilee is an opportunity to gather our story together – from ground-breaking discoveries to the global challenges of the present day, while looking ahead towards the ideas of tomorrow.
The past, the present and the future are not separate chapters – they are parts of a single narrative. This is a reminder that knowledge is not only preserved – it evolves, is shared and is used to shape the world.
