Language courses

If you are going to stay in Sweden for several months, you might want to learn some Swedish!

The Department of Scandinavian Languages offers courses in Swedish: Swedish for Academics 1, 2, 3 and 4. The courses are designed to give employees basic skills in the Swedish language and knowledge of Swedish culture and Swedish society. The courses will provide a basis for further studies in the Swedish language. The courses equal 7.5 credits and are free of charge. Application is only open during a certain period before each semester, and applicants are admitted on a first come, first served basis.

You can also learn Swedish as a foreign language via Uppsala municipality. To study Swedish for immigrants SFI in Uppsala, you are required to have an address in Uppsala and a valid work- or residence permit. In Uppsala, it is not required to have a personal identity number to study Swedish for immigrants SFI. You can find more information on Uppsala municipality´s website.
