Bistable mode
The lecture halls at EBC are always locked and require an access card to open. No students can unlock the classrooms at EBC. However, a lecturer or other authorized person can unlock the doors before a lecture because the doors are in "bistable mode" during the day.
What is bistable mode?
This means that an authorized person can unlock a door with their access card in the usual way, but instead of the door locking after a few seconds, it remains unlocked. Then the door to the classroom remains unlocked during the entire lecture. When the lecture is over, the authorized person locks the lecture hall by holding up the access card in front of the card reader.
Note that it does not have to be the same person who unlocks and then locks a door. If several authorized persons are present, one person can unlock the door and another person can lock it when the teaching is over.
When are the lecture halls in bistable mode?
The halls are in a bistable mode every day, from 07:50 to 21:00.
Because it is easy to forget to lock a room when the lecture is over, there are automatic locking pulses during the day. These pulses are at 12:05, 16:05, 18:05 and 20:05. If the doors lock during a lecture, the authorized person can unlock the doors again as usual.
Who has access to the classrooms?
Anställda inom Lagerträdet får automatiskt tillträde på sitt passerkort. Om en anställd vid ett annat campus har föreläsningar i en lärosal kan receptionen lägga till passagerättigheter på den anställdes befintliga passerkort.
Are you employed on another campus and will have a lecture in a classroom at Intendenturen Lagerträdet?
