Comparative Analysis of Automated Methods for Skin Cancer Classification and Cytology Cell Detection – Marco Acerbis

In this seminar, I will present my Master's research on skin cancer classification and my initial PhD work on cytology cell detection. For skin cancer classification, I evaluated different deep learning techniques analyzing their strengths and weaknesses in classifying dermoscopic images. In my PhD research, I have been benchmarking different automated cell detection methods in cytology, assessing their accuracy and robustness in handling challenges like overlapping cells. This talk will highlight key findings from both projects, discussing the comparative performance of existing techniques and their implications for improving automated cancer diagnostics.
