Researchers gathered for joint workshop.
Three research initiatives at Uppsala University –Uppsala Immigration Lab, Urban Lab and the Centre for Health Economic Research – recently gathered for the first time in a joint workshop.
. Over 40 researchers from various disciplines, including human geography, economic history, and economics, participated in the two-day workshop held at Stora Brännbo Hotel in Sigtuna.
Urban Lab, led by Professor Matz Dahlberg, conducts research on issues connected to cities and urbanization processes. The Centre for Health Economic Research (HEFUU), under the leadership of Professor Erik Grönqvist, focuses on how improved and more equitably distributed health in the population can be achieved.
The program covered a wide range of topics, including differences in life expectancy between residential areas, the long-term health effects of industrial pollution, how election information in different languages influences voter turnout, the effects of automatic preschool placement offers on preschool attendance, and how extended home visits impact access to child healthcare.
