WHOLE Workgroup 5 Workshop: "Thinking interdisciplinary about menopause"

Last week we brought together researchers from neuroscience, gynecology, gender studies, epidemiology, psychology, ethnology, and media studies for a workshop on menopause and interdisciplinarity. The workshop was organized by WHOLE Centre's workgroup 5, focusing on menopause and aging, led by Ulrika Dahl and Inger Sundström Poromaa, in collaboration with the Centre for Gender Research.
Rather than aiming for a concrete output by the end of the day, the focus was on genuinely thinking across disciplines — reflecting on where our methods and questions align, where they don't, and what it actually takes to work together well. Alongside this, we discussed why menopause is getting so much attention right now, who tends to be left out of that conversation, and how joining forces across fields can strengthen our research on menopause and women's health.
Thank you to everyone involved: Ulrika Dahl, Inger Sundström Poromaa, Christine Bylund, Åsa Johansson Palmkvist, Erika Comasco, Alicia Nevriana, Oksana Goroshchuk, Małgorzata Tybuszewska, Jadwiga Joanna Bożek, and Leo Thaeron.
