Internal calls within Uppsala University

Would you like to expand your international network or do you have an activity that you would like to develop along with new or excisting contacts within the ENLIGHT-network?

The purpose of this call is to increase contact, on all levels, between the universities in the ENLIGHT-network and to encourage joint activities within education, research or collaborations.

All employees at Uppsala University may apply for funds of up to 50 000 SEK.

  • In your application you will need to provide a short description of how the funds will be used and who you plan to collaborate with. Funds may be used for, for example, travel, coordination of meetings, shadowing/benchmarking, student activities etc. These funds do not cover indirect costs (OH)
  • Activities should include one or more people from at least one partner in the ENLIGHT network, other than Uppsala University. Funds can only be used for staff at either of the ENLIGHT-universities.
  • The funds will be paid out to the organisational unit where the main applicant is employed.
  • The activity should be completed within twelve months from approval.
  • If the proposed activity can be funded by other means, such as Erasmus Staff Training, you may be asked to apply for funding from these existing calls.

Applications are evaluated by the internal steering committee at Uppsala University for ENLIGHT. In the evaluation the committee will consider:

  • the potential of the proposed activity to contribute to stronger contacts between partner universities within the ENLIGHT-network.
  • the overall quality and feasibility of the proposal.

After the proposed activity has been completed a short report of maximum one A4 should be submitted to the ENLIGHT-coordinator at enlight@uu.se.

Calls for all members of ENLIGHT

ENLIGHT Incubation Grants 2024 support joint development of educational initiatives within the six focus areas of the ENLIGHT university alliance:

  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Digitalization
  • Climate Change
  • Energy and Circular Economy
  • Equity
  • Culture & Creativity

The grant can support a variety of education formats. Examples include virtual exchange, blended programs, living labs, summer schools, virtual exchange, COIL, co-teaching initiatives, joint minors and double/joint degree programs, but other formats are welcome as well. Initiatives must award a transcript of records.

Approximately 10 projects will be selected in 2024, with additional calls planned for Spring 2025 and Spring 2026. Selected initiatives receive up to €30,000, covering various costs. Applications must involve at least three ENLIGHT universities for physical/blended formats, or two for virtual formats, and be completed by June 30, 2027.

Would you like to establish a multidisciplinary network together with new or existing contacts within the ENLIGHT network?

The purpose of these funds is to stimulate interdisciplinary collaboration around challenge-based activities that connect education and research through the establishment of thematic networks.

Up to 150,000 euros can be applied for by each selected network:

In your application, you need to provide a brief description of how the funds will be used and with whom you plan to collaborate. Funds can be used for coordination and operations; personnel costs, travel expenses, costs for hosting events (conferences, seminars, etc.). The network should include academics from at least three partner universities in the ENLIGHT network. The activity should be carried out within three years.

The fourth annual ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference will take place in October 2024 in Tartu, Estonia. The conference aims to engage participants in open, international, and interdisciplinary discussions on innovative pedagogical methods. Applicants are invited to contribute through oral presentations, poster presentations, interactive and/or collaborative workshops, or roundtable discussions.

We invite academics, students, alumni, educational developers and administrative staff from ENLIGHT universities to share their experiences. The conference has no participation fee, and ENLIGHT will cover travel and accommodation for up to two speakers per contribution.

This year's conference theme is 'Innovation and Creativity in Higher Education'.

Sub-themes include:

  • Supporting creativity and innovation in education through active learning and engagement.
  • Designing learning environments that foster creativity and innovation.
  • The impact of AI on creativity, equality, and assessment.
  • Society's expectations for a creative university.
  • Failure or a creative idea? Encouraging risk-taking and learning from mistakes in creative processes.
  • Challenges in assessing innovation and creativity.
