Nominate your best course experience for “The ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Award”
The European University Alliance ENLIGHT – of which Uppsala University is an enthusiastic member – aims to give higher education a career future-proof twist by combining research with real-world challenges, incorporating interdisciplinary perspectives and collaborations across all kinds of boundaries.
Now, creating courses like that is hard work. And, to reward teachers who gives courses like that, ENLIGHT has established an award, “The ENLIGHT’s Course of the Year”.
Time to nominate your favourite?
Uppsala University is looking for the one course that best embodies the spirit of ENLIGHT at Uppsala University, to compete with courses nominated from the nine partner universities in the Alliance. And, hopefully, be named the “ENLIGHT’s Course of the Year”, during the Teaching & Learning Conference, hosted by the Uppsala University from 8 to 10 October 2025.
Nomination closes: 9 June 2025.
What is an ENLIGHT-like course?
The courses evaluated according to six criteria:
Transdisciplinarity: To what degree did the course involve collaboration with teachers of different subjects, so that you felt that you as a student gathered and applied knowledge and perspectives from different disciplines and areas of expertise?
Collaboration with external partners: To what degree did collaboration with external stakeholders contribute to your understanding?
Research-oriented teaching: To what degree did the course help you formulate problems and find solutions to real-world research questions?
Intercultural and international learning: To what degree did interaction with students from various countries with different cultural backgrounds and academic knowledge contribute to your learning?
Versatility: To what degree did the course emphasize transversal skills such as intercultural awareness, inclusive leadership, and multilingualism?
Challenge-based education: To what degree was the course based on real-life challenges, with the aim to develop, implement, and test solutions in authentic, real-world contexts?
