About Uppsala University Culture & Creativity (UUC&C)

Uppsala University Culture & Creativity (UUC&C) is a collaboration platform and a meeting place for researchers and actors within creative and cultural industries that offers comprehensive support to stimulate new ways of creating knowledge. UUC&C offers an environment where a mutual, open exchange of knowledge between researchers and cultural sector actors can take place. The helpful and stable structure allows for experiences, problems and knowledge to be shared in an open way – all to create the right breeding ground for exploring and co-creating new knowledge. At UUC&C, we have gathered cutting-edge expertise in research support, innovation and collaboration that follows the process all the way from idea to finished project.
Background
UUC&C started as a pilot project in 2023 called Uppsala Co-creation Community for Culture and Creativity and is part of Uppsala University's involvement in the European Institute for Innovation and technology (EIT) Culture & Creativity. The project is also involved in the initiative around a Nordic network, University Club with connection to EIT culture & creativity, Uppsala Municipality's application to become European Capital of Culture in 2029, Enlight 2.0 with a focus on culture and creativity and the new cooperation agreement between Humsam and Torch at the University of Oxford (The Oxford-Uppsala Initiative).
The platform is made possible through a collaboration between different support functions at Uppsala University: Division for Research and Partnership Support, Uppsala University Innovation, Center for Integrated Research on Culture and Society (Circus) and the Unit for Research Support in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
100 meetings with interested researchers and external actors have been carried out during the period and network building in the form of international and international meetings and conferences. Various activities have been tested in experimental forms with the aim of providing a basis for a mutual exchange of knowledge between researchers and actors in creative and cultural industries.
