Biography

In my research, I focus on social and spatial inequality, migration, and rural–urban relations. These themes are examined through the lenses of education and housing, two areas that reflect broader social processes operating at different levels of society.

I am currently involved in four research projects:

(I) Social groups’ and individuals’ knowledge and perceptions of different neighbourhoods in Uppsala, and the processes through which they search for housing;

(II) Young adults with migration backgrounds and their parents’ future prospects, with a particular focus on gender;

(III) Young people who are neither in employment nor in education, and their pathways back into education; and

(IV) Young adults’ engagement in civil society, with a focus on orientations and forms of participation.
