Short presentation

I am a cultural and historical geographer interested in matters of place construction, transformation and representation, modern historical landscapes, thorny heritage, homes (first and second), youth mobility, the interactions between dimensions of materiality and immateriality in our world, and last but not least how society deals with flora and fauna deemed alien and invasive (and other natures).

Research

I am working on several research projects:

- "The politics of invasive alien species in Sweden: Affective alliances and heritage work", with Mattias Frihammar and Lars Kaijser, Department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender studies at Stockholm University, Description in Swedish and English

My doctoral research elaborated on the integration of material and immaterial dimensions in processes of place construction through a study of the transformations of Swedish rural small holdings into second homes during the 20th century.
