Short presentation

I am Associate Professor (Docent) of Psychology and Associate Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Work and Organizational Psychology at Uppsala University. My research focuses on work and health, with particular emphasis on how working conditions influence well-being and sustainable working lives. I study illegitimate tasks, being locked-in at work, and how the psychosocial and physical work environment influences retirement timing.

Biography

I received my PhD in Psychology from the Department of Psychology at Stockholm University in 2018. Following my PhD, I held postdoctoral positions at Uppsala University and Stockholm University. Since then, I have primarily worked as a researcher at the Stress Research Institute, which is now part of the Department of Psychology at Stockholm University. In 2024, I was appointed Associate Professor (Docent) of Psychology at Stockholm University and, in the same year, joined Uppsala University as an Associate Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Work and Organizational Psychology.

Before studying psychology, I worked for several years as an engineer in the telecommunications industry. I hold an MSc in Engineering Physics. My experience from working life sparked my interest in how work organization, the work environment, and working conditions influence people's health and well-being.

I primarily teach Work and Organizational Psychology and serve as course coordinator for courses within the area in the Psychology Programme and the International Master's Programme. I also supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses. In addition, I have extensive teaching experience in research methodology and statistics from previous academic positions.

Research

My research focuses on work and health, with particular emphasis on how working conditions influence well-being and sustainable working lives. I study illegitimate tasks, that is, tasks perceived as unnecessary or as falling outside one's professional role, and being locked-in, the experience of feeling stuck in one's current job. I am also interested in how the psychosocial and physical work environment influences the timing of retirement and other aspects of sustainable working lives.
