Short presentation

Ayse Kaslilar is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University. Her research interests include seismic imaging and characterization of subsurface structures using both active and passive seismic methods from engineering to crustal scale studies. Her work also includes the location and imaging of near-surface scatterers using seismic interferometry, inverse scattering of surface waves, and forward and inverse modeling of wave propagation and scattering.

Biography

Ayse Kaslilar holds a BA, MSc and PhD in Geophysical Engineering with a focus on seismics and seismology from Istanbul Technical University, Turkiye. Since 2018, she has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University. Previously, she was a full professor in the Department of Geophysical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. She has been a post-doc at the Department of Geophysics in Freie Universität Berlin, and at the Delft Institute of Applied Mathematics at Delft University of Technology. She has been the PI of several national and international research projects. Since 2017 she is associate editor for the journals Geophysics (SEG) and Near Surface Geophysics (EAGE). Her research interests include seismic imaging and characterization of subsurface structures using both active and passive seismic methods from engineering to crustal scale studies. She is member of EAGE, SEG, AGU and EGU.
