Short presentation

My research centers on the socio-spatial dynamics within the ancient Egyptian community of workmen at Thebes, specifically those responsible for tomb-building in the Valley of the Kings.

In my PhD, I employed graffiti as a lens to investigate the social interactions among the workmen, their engagement with powerful entities such as the royal institution, and their interaction with the landscape. My study explored how the workmen used graffiti as a tool for space appropriation and place-making.
