PhD, Administrative Director, Office for Humanities and Social Sciences.

As Administrative Director, I am responsible for planning and leading the work within the Office for Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition, I provide support to the Vice‑Rector and the rest of the Management of the Disciplinary Domain. I represent the Office and the Disciplinary Domain in e.g. the Vice‑Chancellor’s Management Council, in the University Director’s advisory body as well as in various other forums.

Biography

Our office consists of approximately 40 staff members who prepare decisions and provide services and support to the Vice‑Chancellor, to the Disciplinary Domain Board, to the Faculty Boards, to the departments and other units within the Disciplinary Domain for Humanities and Social sciences. Within the office’s responsibility, there is one disciplinary domain board, six faculty boards, and around thirty departments. The office is responsible for planning and follow‑up of research, education, and collaboration. It also works with recruitment of academic staff, communication matters, as well as with study counselling and school placement coordination for the Teacher Training Programs.

Background

I hold a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Uppsala University. After having finished my postgraduate education in 2008, I worked as a researcher at the Ethnographic Museum in Stockholm, and also as a lecturer and researcher at Dalarna University. In 2013, I returned to Uppsala University and spent two years as a lecturer and director of studies at the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology. I have worked at the Office for Humanities and Social Sciences since August 2015. For eight years I worked as a Senior Faculty Administrator primarily for the Faculty of Arts, and since 1 February 2024, I am the office's Administrative Director.
