Short presentation
I started the PhD program in September 2021. My project investigates the history of the Holocaust in the multiethnic society of the Nazi-occupied Kharkiv oblast (Ukraine) during 1941-1943. The primary purpose is to analyze the social dynamics of violence in the region, focusing on the group of Jewish victims.

Biography
I have an interdisciplinary background with BA and MA in philology from the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine, majoring in English and French languages and literature. The programs trained me as a qualified translator and teacher. I also hold MA in Ethnic and Migration Studies from Linköping University, where I wrote a thesis on the politics of memory of the Holocaust in Ukraine. Outside academia, I worked as a teacher, translator, and paralegal.
Research
My main research interests lie in genocide and the Holocaust, the modern history of Ukraine and the Soviet Union, memory studies, nationalism, identity construction, ethnicity, migration, minorities, and democracy.
