My research focuses on assortative mating and gender inequality. Specifically, it is about what socio-economic characteristics hetrosexual people care about when choosing a romantic partner, and whether these preferences differ by gender, vary across national contexts, or have shifted over time. These characteristics include income, education and occupation. An area of emphasis is the behaviour and characteristics of couples where the woman has a higher education or income compared to the man.
