Research

Rechberger's research started out within the project ”Controlling the Uncontrollable: The Impact of Reproductive Health Apps on Experiences of Pregnancy, Healthcare Professionals’ Work and Data Governance” funded by the Swedish Research Council. In the project we study experiences with reproductive health applications from different perspectives.

In her own research, Rechberger focuses on fathers'/partners' perspective on intimate digital technologies used in the context of reproduction and parenthood. Using a combination of qualitative methods, she studies both user experiences and the design of commercial apps. The research is situated between feminist HCI and critical studies of men and masculinities, as Rechberger aims to provide a critical perspective on the socio-cultural entanglements of everyday technologies, fatherhood and gender.
