Short presentation

I'm a postdoctoral researcher in behavioral ecology and evolutionary biology, mainly interested in the evolution and adaptation of behaviour and morphological traits, from individual to species level.

I am currently working with the flycatchers, in Anna Qvarnström lab. Specifically, I will be working on the potential role of this insectivorous birds as active pest control agents.

Biography

I have done my PhD at CIBIO/InBIO, University of Porto (Portugal), in collaboration with Exeter University (UK).

Previously: postodoctoral researcher at Stockholm University (Sweden).

Research

My work focus on how social dynamics, ornamentation, and environmental variation shape animal behaviour and life-history. Using birds as primary study system, I examine questions related to sexual selection, colour signalling, social networks, cognition, and phenotypic plasticity, by combining theoretical and empirical approaches, possible to advance the understanding of the ecological and evolutionary processes driving behavioral diversity.
