Research

Nina is responsible for the operation of the Customized Microfluidics facility, supporting researchers in the molecular life sciences with the design, fabrication, and application of microfluidic systems for their research, from device design to prototype delivery and training in commercially available solutions.

During her PhD, she developed "Microfluidic Large-Scale Integration" (mLSI) devices compatible with 3D cell cultures, establishing a 3D printing and soft lithography based fabrication technique for reproducible stem cell-derived organoids on-chip. At her former position in industry, she developed labware-based microfluidic solutions, including a multiplexed immunohistochemistry staining platform, before moving into project management for the company's perfusion system.

The facility she runs receives funding from SciLifeLab and uses the MyFab cleanroom facilities at Uppsala University.
