Research

My research focuses on investigating how representative people with substance-use disorders are in health research. Using register data, I examine the outcomes – including treatment trajectories and health outcomes – resulting from the inclusion and exclusion criteria applied in clinical trials for people with substance-use disorders.

My research is designed to be conducted in consultation with those it affects, and I seek ongoing collaboration with people with substance-use disorders, clinicians and clinical trial recruiters.

My studies incorporate quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as a systematic literature review.
