Short presentation

I am Professor of Church and Mission Studies, specializing in Mission History and non-European Church History. Earlier, my research focus was Colonial Spanish America from the sixteenth through the early nineteenth century. In recent years, I have devoted more time to contemporary Catholic traditionalism and independent Catholicism. Another research interest is nineteenth and early twentieth-century Catholic missions in the Dutch colonies in South America and the Caribbean.
