What is VAMOS?

VAMOS brings together eight universities and one NGO for an exchange of good practice in internationalization, virtual teaching and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The consortium will develop a virtual course in which students from all partner universities will work with the local/global sustainability issues (Wicked Problems).

The main objective of the project is to build capacity for innovative international collaboration and joint learning, with a focus on learning spaces for ESD and for virtual exchange (VE) courses/projects addressing SDG issues. Specific objectives are to strengthen the capacity of teachers to transform university education towards Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), develop the Virtual Exchange teaching skills of university staff, address local Wicked Problems in society through International Virtual Exchange with students and teachers, empower students to become active agents in addressing Sustainable Development Goals and increase the relevance of Education for Sustainable Development by focusing on transversal approaches and interaction with society.

We will explore how we teach Education for Sustainable Development at our universities and jointly identify core themes (wicked problems). On the basis of this we will co-create a virtual exchange course. The course will be in a virtual GLOCAL Campus setting in which the students will interact with their international peers (via video conference and interactive smart board) and work together on wicked problems. After the pilots have been tested, the project will evaluate the experience.
