The Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering hereby invite all interested to a docentship lecture in subject of engineering science with focus on industrial engineering and management.
Leadership in technology-intensive organizations is a complex process performed not only by humans but also shaped by socio-material practices. In this lecture I will discuss the shift from mainstream understanding of leadership as requiring particular traits of the leader into more critical understanding of leadership as a dynamic process influenced by humans and technology. I highlight the need for a more nuanced perspective on leadership as requiring research on power dynamics in organizational settings.
The lecture is an obligatory teaching test for those applying for admittance as docent and it should be possible for students and others with basic academic education in the relevant field to follow it. The lecture lasts 40-45 minutes with subsequent discussion. The lecture will be given in English.
