About the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology
The Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology (IGP) performs research and education primarily on cancer and genetic diseases but also on autoimmune, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. We shall also disseminate and utilise our research findings, such as that they may lead to improved health for patients with these diseases.
Our goal is to be an efficient, transparent and service-minded organisation, and an attractive department for scientists in our research areas.
IGP is one of Uppsala University's largest departments with more than 400 employees and in addition, approximately 450 affiliated staff members. In 2023, we had a financial turnover of more than SEK 500 million.
IGP has premises in the Rudbeck Laboratory, the Biomedical Centre (BMC) and Uppsala University Hospital
