New premiere of Sweden's first public concert
The House of Nobility in Stockholm celebrates its 400-year anniversary in 2026. In the beginning of June, there will be a number of events taking place at the House of Nobility. During one of these events, on June 2, the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble will perform a shortened version of Sweden's first public concert, Johan Helmich Roman's 'Passionsmusik' from 1731, which hasn't been performed since. It consisted of music by some of Europe's most prominent composers, such as Handel, Telemann and also Roman himself.
Prior to the concert, there will be a seminar in which professor Mattias Lundberg speaks with musicologist Jan Enberg about the House of Nobility as a music centre through history, and about the concert.
Please note that the event will be held in Swedish.
