Neutron camera at MAST
A neutron camera is equipment that can create time resolved images of neutron distributions.
We have developed and installed a neutron camera prototype at the experimental reactor MAST (Mega Amp Spherical Tokamak) which is in use at the Culham Science Centre in the UK. This neutron camera measures 2.45 MeV neutrons along several lines of sight, to create a profile of the neutron radiation from the plasma.
Tests using this prototype show that it has time resolution sufficient to study effects involving the loss of fast ions caused by magnetohydrodynamic processes.
