Emma Rönngren is an affiliated researcher at the Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies, Uppsala University, and a senior lecturer in strategic communication at Örebro University. Emma defended her PhD thesis entitled "Making Sense of Russian Strategic Narratives: Affect and Reception Among Young Russian Speakers in Latvia" at Uppsala University in 2025. Her research explores strategic narratives, affect, and media practices in the Baltic Sea region, with a focus on Russian-speaking minorities and societal resilience in times of geopolitical tension, especially in post-Soviet contexts.
