Research at Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies
The Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies (IRES) is a multidisciplinary research environment in the humanities and social sciences, focused on the study of Russia and the post-Soviet states. We are an internationally competitive and thriving research hub for cutting-edge research that addresses processes of social, political, and economic transformation in Russia and the post-Soviet region in general, and IRES researchers bring expertise and experience from history, political science, anthropology, peace & conflict studies, media studies. The IRES community is methodologically and intellectually diverse, and includes post-doctoral students, PhD students and regular visitors who all contribute to making IRES an exciting place to work.
