Study at the Department of Statistics
We teach courses and programmes in statistics at all levels. Among other things, we offer a Master's programme in statistics and postgraduate training in statistics.
At Bachelor's level, statistics can be studied as major subject in the Bachelor's Programme in Business and Economics, the Bachelor's Programme in Political Science or the Bachelor's Programme in Social Sciences.
At advanced level, we have our own two-year Master's programme, the Master's Programme in Statistics and Data Science. We also train researchers in statistics within our postgraduate education.
We also provide statistics courses within a number of other programmes and you can also study independent courses with us.
According to a questionnaire survey, 98% of responding alumni stated that they were glad that they had studied in the Master's program in statistics.

Statistics aid
All students writing an undergraduate or master thesis at the Faculty of Social Sciences that need help with statistics in their thesis are offered consultancy, free of charge.
The student’s first contact with the consultancy service will be a 30 minute long meeting. This meeting is to be booked in advance. Follow-up meetings can be booked when needed, after agreement with the consultant.
Students that come to the statistics consultancy service must be well prepared, in order to make the first meeting efficient. They will have thought through their problems and upcoming analyses and be prepared of which questions we will ask.
Discontinued courses
When courses using written exams are discontinued, there exists an opportunity to take a finishing exam. There are three such opportunities divided into three different semesters.
For information about which courses it is currently possible to take a finishing exam, as well as information about finishing discontinued courses, please contact the student service office.
Uppsala EBA Student Association
The Uppsala Business and Economics Student Association (Uppsalaekonomerna) is the student union at the department. As a student union they work to improve the education at the university and to help students with study related issues. For instance, they have a full time employed Head of Education who works with these issues and who you can turn to if you have problems with anything from examinations to admission or CSN.
