KBH at the Rudbeck Laboratory

At the Rudbeck Laboratory, the Department of Women's and Children's Health conducts research in infertility, the effect of endocrine disrupting chemicals, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, gynaecological cancer, and the long-term effects of cancer treatments, as well as the well-being of women during and after pregnancy. The effect on mother and child of conditions such as pre-eclampsia, obesity and mental illness during pregnancy is studied. The laboratory is well equipped for biochemical and molecular biological analyses, cell culture and hormone analyses. The laboratory has associate professors, senior lecturers, doctoral students, research assistants and graduate students.

Global Health and Migration unit (GHM)


 

The World Health Organization designated Global Health and Migration unit (GHM), at the Department of Women's and Children's Health at Uppsala University as a WHO Collaborating Center on Migration and Health Data and Evidence.

Clinical research office (KFM)

Clinical research office (KFM) is a common facility for researchers at the Department of Women's and Children's Health. The facility has equipment for handling and collection of blood samples, tissue samples, and isolation of cells for further cell culture elsewhere. At KFM, we conduct cognitive tests on adults and children, ultrasound examinations of blood vessels, as well as investigations of body composition and energy metabolism at rest and during physical activity using various examination methods. At KFM, there are researchers, research nurses, doctoral students and graduates students with ongoing projects.
