About the home sampling
Shortly after you have registered your participation you will receive your sample collection package in your mailbox at home. The contents of the package and how you proceed to take the blood sample is described and shown in the step-by-step blood sampling instructions below.

Step-by-step blood sampling instructions
Step 1:
The sample collection package contains the following parts:
a) Alcohol swab (1 extra included)
b) Lancet (1 extra included)
c) Sample collection card in protective sleeve
d) Gauze pad
e) Bandage (1 extra included)
Read through the entire instruction before you begin!
Open all the packages included in the kit.
Lay out all materials on a dry flat surface.
Step 2:
Wash your hands with soap and warm water, and further warm your hands by rubbing them together.
Step 3:
Clean the area you intend to prick- on your middle or ring finger- using the alcohol swab (a). Let it air dry!
We recommend to prick on the side of the fingertip.
Twist off the white top of the lancet (b).
Step 4:
Take the sample collection card (c) out of its protective sleeve (save the sleeve) and place the card in front of you on a dry, flat surface.
You can press the thumb against the finger you plan to prick to help blood push into the fingertip. We recommend to prick on the side of the fingertip.
Hold the blue part of the lancet, and press firmly against the chosen puncture site - the lancet will activate automatically.
Step 5:
Wipe away the first drop of blood with the gauze pad (d).
Hold your finger above the circles of the sample collection card (c) as a guide. Gently massage your finger to produce a large drop of blood - take your time.
Apply one drop per circle, filling as many as you can. It's okay if some blood goes outside the circles.
Step 6:
Wipe your finger with the gauze pad (d) and apply the bandage (e). Place the sample collection card (c) on a dry surface to air dry for approximately 3 hours.
Slide the card back into its protective sleeve and place it in the prepaid return envelope. Drop the envelope in a mailbox.
