Yes, you can save the invitation and complete your registration when you have returned home. If you register but then go away for a longer time period you may receive a reminder to submit your sample, they are sent out automatically after some time has passed.

Everyone who receives the personal invitation can register as participant and submit samples. When the samples are analysed, they are divided into different comparison groups based on for example the donor persons age, or if the donors have had different diseases. Information about different health conditions that are relevant for the study are collected from health registers. Apart from the short questionnaire, the participants should therefore not send in any health data themselves.

We are unable to provide any compensation for the study participants. However, the study covers the costs for the sample collection kit, and provides a return envelope with prepaid postage for submitting the blood sample to the study. Participation is voluntary and contributing with a sample to the study may contribute to improved cancer diagnostics in the future.

No, you do not have to pay anything or provide any payment details to participate in the study. The study will supply all material needed for collecting the blood sample. The sample collection kit contains a return envelope with prepaid postage for submitting the blood sample to the study.

Only persons who have received a personal invitation can participate in the study. The invitations are sent out to different groups of persons at different stages so you may receive an invitation to the study later.

We do not use the samples to actively search for unknown diseases in individual participants. The aim of the study is to develop new tests for early detection of cancer. Before the samples are analysed, the study has to collect samples from many participants and divide them into groups for making comparisons based on e.g. age or different diseases recorded in health registries. This is a long process that will take several years to complete. It is therefore unlikely that the study will detect an unknown cancer before the disease is discovered by regular health care. Individual results are typically not shared with the participants as the study focuses on group-level data. However, when you register, you can choose to consent to being contacted by the study if the research reveals something that could be of great importance for your future health.
