Many PV systems are connected and will probably continue to be connected to local electricity networks. An important issue, especially for larger PV systems, is where the systems should be located and connected for maximum resource and system efficiency. If systems are located only on the basis of favorable radiation conditions, the result may be that the network has to be reinforced or that the systems cannot be fully exploited due to capacity shortage. Therefore, it is interesting to make solar utilization plans, which, like wind utilization plans, identify the most favorable conditions for new systems based on a variety of parameters. In this project, we will develop a methodology for solar utilization plans at municipal level by further developing solar resource mapping, combining this with geographic data for other relevant parameters, and conducting a case study for Herrljunga municipality, where the goal is to include a section on solar utilization in the overview plan.
