New alumni association

Have you been a member of the Royal Academic Orchestra and would like to join an alumni association?

The preparations for the major anniversary year in 2027—when Uppsala University celebrates its 550th anniversary and the Royal Academic Orchestra marks 400 years—are in full progress. In connection to this, Musicum, in collaboration with the orchestra’s Social Club, has initiated the creation of an alumni association for former members of the Royal Academic Orchestra.

The purpose of the association is of course the community and our fellowship, but also the opportunity to make contacts between universities, business and other actors who can benefit the orchestra. The membership is completely free.

Here are some examples of what the association could offer:

• Reunions and social events & parties
• Newsletters
• Priority access to concert tickets
• Opportunities to make music together – alumni concerts or joint projects with current members

To support the initial phase of the association, we have the former orchestral member Jens Norberg, who coordinates the work of the network, enabling it to eventually stand on its own.
