New name as conservation changes department
When conservation moves to the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History on 1 January 2025, the department will change its name to ‘Department of Archaeology, Ancient History and Conservation’.
From 1 January 2025, conservation as a subjeect till form part of the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History. The Dean of the Faculty of Arts has previously commented on the move in an article on 29 August 2024 (see link below): ‘The move is part of the faculty's quality management, with the aim of strengthening and continuing to invest in our activities on Campus Gotland,’.
On 17 December 2024, the Vice-Chancellor decided in connection with the move to change the name of the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History to the ‘Department of Archaeology, Ancient History and Conservation’.
The new name will apply from 1 January 2025.
