Security procedures for hosting visiting researchers

If you are going to host a visiting researcher, there are some things you need to consider. As a rule, the discilinary domain´s procedures for receiving visiting researchers, together with the University's other guidelines, directions and instructions within overall security work, personal security, property protection, information security and crisis and continuity management, should form the basis for active work on security and risk management.

The hosting of visiting researchers must be reviewed in the same critical manner as we review the cooperation agreements that we enter into with external actors. The visiting researcher’s stay at the University must always have a clearly defined purpose.

The question of potentially hosting a visiting researcher must be assessed at management level in the department and approved by the head of department or equivalent.

Security procedures for the reception of visiting researchers

To facilitate the reception of visiting researchers, the Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences has developed safety procedures for the reception of visiting researchers. In the document you will find procedures and information on what you need to consider when hosting a visiting researcher.

Written agreement

A written agreement must be drawn up between the department and the visiting researcher. The agreement shall establish the expectations of the visiting researcher and regulate the visiting researcher's access to the University's premises. A template has been developed and is managed by HR (commitment to research stay). Note in particular examples of possible additions that should be considered in each case.
