Safety
Being aware of the building and its evacuation routes can be crucial in an emergency situation. Study the evacuation plans posted in various locations throughout the building. It is everyone's responsibility to familiarize themselves with the evacuation plan.
Evacuation
In case of an alarm, all individuals in Blåsenhus must evacuate to the Blåsenhus parking lot in the inner courtyard and proceed to the assembly point. Always take the fastest route out and follow the green evacuation exit signs.
Do not block or obstruct an emergency exit or evacuation route.
If you ever notice that an evacuation route is blocked, such as an emergency door, please move the object obstructing the path. Alternatively, inform the reception, and our administration will address the situation.
Fire Emergency
- WARN your surroundings
- RESCUE others but not if there is a risk to your own life
- CALL 112
- EXTINGUISH the fire if possible
- TRAP the fire behind doors
- NEVER use the elevator - take the stairs via the emergency exit
Evacuation chair
In the event of an emergency, such as during an evacuation alarm, the elevators are automatically shut down and cannot be used. Individuals with disabilities, injuries, or other impediments to using stairs can be evacuated with the help of an evacuation chair.
In Blåsenhus, there are four evacuation chairs located:
- Adjacent to the reception in the entrance hall
- In building 14, floor 0 at the entrance facing the Botanical Garden
- In stairwell 11 outside the elevators on the basement level
- In the staff corridor of building 21, floor 2
Support from Campus security guards
University Emergency Number: 018-471 25 00
Uppsala University's emergency number is used in case of, or if there is:
- Serious personal, environmental, or property damage.
- Damage to the university's or one's own business's good reputation and profile.
- Serious impact on the institution's or the university's operations.
If urgent security support is needed due to difficult situations, please provide the following information:
- Your name.
- Location (Uppsala University, Blåsenhus, von Kraemers allé 1).
- "We need security support immediately due to..."

First Aid
The Reception provides the following
- plasers in various sizes
- blood stoppers
- wound wash
- mouth-to-mouth protection kit
- eyes- and wound wash
Defibrillator
At Blåsenhus, there are two defibrillators (automated external defibrillators, AEDs). They are located on the entrance level: one is on the wall next to the reception, and another is near entrance 1C, at the end of corridor 14 by building 13.
Listen to and follow the instructions when starting the defibrillator.
