Learning outcomes
After completing this course the student should be able to
- identify, classify and analyse field data that are relevant to one or several of the major scientific areas in Earth Science
- link these data to appropriate environments of earth Science
- collect relevant data in the field
- treat and interpret such data, and present analyses to potential employers or in scientific contexts
Content
Mapping or equivalent field work in an environment appropriate for the main scientific field chosen by the student. Compilation of maps, eventual profiles and interpretations in a report. Training in communication is an integrated part of the course.
Instruction
Lectures and practicals. Participation in the practicals is compulsory.
Assessment
Approved report with maps, diagrams and description/interpretation.
Other directives
The field course will cause costs for travel and accommodation for the student. A students who is not willing to attend will be offered alternative instruction/content.
